A Walking Map has been developed showing businesses and attractions within the Newark area to provide information for boaters as well as other visitors.  The map can be found at the Visitor Center as well as other locations throughout the Village of Newark.

Boaters

If you are traveling by boat along the Erie Canal, you will want to stop at "The Port of Newark" where you will find a visitors center and docking on both sides of the canal.  The Visitors Center, located in T. Spencer Knight Park, provides restrooms including free shower and laundry facilities, electrical service, WI-FI, water and a pump-out station.  There is also security lighting and surveillance.  You will enjoy the park setting along the canal which offers picnic tables, a gazebo and benches for your pleasure.  You may also enjoy taking a walk or bike ride on the nearby canal trail.  The canal park is centrally located and within walking distance of many stores and restaurants.
