Taste of Wayne County

Taste the “signature” dishes and drinks from restaurants, growers, and manufactures who are located throughout the county. This event is usually held the third Tuesday in June. Check Community Calendar link below for this year's date.

Annual Wine & Artisans Festival

Come experience the bounty of our area! A ticket for event includes tastings from local wine, spirits, beer and hard cider makers.  Outside of the paid admission area, local makers will be on hand with arts, crafts, artisan foods and more! This event is usually held second or third Friday in June.  Check Community Calendar link below for this year's date.

A Walking Map has been developed showing businesses and attractions within the Newark area to provide information for boaters as well as other visitors.  The map can be found at the Visitor Center as well as other locations throughout the Village of Newark.

Newark Farmer's Market

Held on Thursdays from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in downtown Central Park, the Newark Farmer's market is a perfect place to find local fresh produce as well as other homemade items.  The Farmer's Market is open from the last week of May to October.

Newark Park Band Concerts

Starting in mid-July and running five consecutive Tuesdays, the Newark Park Band performs for free in Central Park on South Main Street, beginning at 7:30 p.m.  Concerts last approximately an hour and benches are provided, or you may bring your own lawn chair.

Music on the Erie

A different band performs, free of charge, every Friday in July and August from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newark’s T. Spencer Knight Park along the beautiful Erie Canal.  Bring your lawn chair or blanket and dancing shoes.  Families are encouraged to attend and snacks are available for purchase.  Visit  newarknychamber.org or call 315-331-2705 for details.
