The department's functions include the maintenance of Village streets, traffic devices, Village-owned buildings, property, equipment, water distribution system, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, Village trees, parks, and two cemeteries.  The DPW picks up brush and leaves in the spring and fall; plus, plows and salts roads during winter months.

The Operations Center is located at 100 Wood Lane and houses Village vehicles, equipment, materials, parts and supplies. There are currently 12 DPW employees and 2 supervisors, all of whom are Heavy Equipment Operators with CDL licenses. The DPW equipment includes loaders, trucks, pickup trucks, plows, soil shredder, wood chipper, trailers, etc.
