The Operations Center is located at 100 Wood Lane and houses village vehicles, equipment, materials, parts and supplies. There are currently 13 DPW employees, 2 supervisors and an Operations Manager, who are all Heavy Equipment Operators with CDL licenses. The DPW equipment includes loaders, backhoes, excavator, street sweeper, blacktop mill, dump trucks, pickup trucks, plows, soil shredder, wood chipper, trailers, etc.
The department's functions include the maintenance of Village streets, traffic devices, Village-owned buildings, property, equipment, water distribution system, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, Village trees, parks, and two cemeteries. The DPW further picks up brush and leaves in the spring and fall (information on dates, policies, etc. will be posted under InTheNews); plus, plows and salts roads during winter months.
