Courtesy of the New York State Canal Corporation’s Erie Canal Greenway Grant Program, the Village has plans to make the following enhancements along the Erie Canal:

• Improvement of lighting along the canal park
• Enhancement of the electrical power for docked vessels
• Addition of a fueling center for boats (just west of T. Spencer Knight Park)
• Completion of a concrete pad for park events
• Lights on outline of East Avenue Bridge
• Pump-out station
• Mural painted under Veterans Memorial Bridge

Transformation of Route 88, which runs north/south through the Village is scheduled for completion during 2011-2012.  This project will improve the transportation corridor for vehicles and pedestrians.
